His passion for orthopedic care and sports medicine led him to further specialize with a residency in Pediatric Orthopedics at Boston Children’s Hospital, one of the top institutions for pediatric care.
Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Maddalo has significantly impacted the field of sports medicine, treating athletes from all levels of competition. From 1986 to 2014, he served as the Assistant Team Physician for the New York Rangers hockey team. His extensive expertise has also benefited collegiate athletes, having served as team physician for Manhattan College, the College of Mount Saint Vincent, and the College of New Rochelle. His deep understanding of orthopedic care, combined with his commitment to enhancing athletic performance and injury recovery, has earned him widespread recognition.
Dr. Maddalo’s professional accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. He has been recognized as one of the “Top Doctors” by New York Magazine in 2012, 2022, and 2023, solidifying his reputation as a leading expert in orthopedic surgery. As a member of prestigious organizations, including the Westchester County Medical Association, the New York State Medical Society, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, Dr. Maddalo remains at the forefront of medical advancements in his field.
In addition to his work in orthopedic surgery, Dr. Maddalo has also been named “Police Surgeon” for several law enforcement agencies, including the New York State Police, the Westchester County Police Department, the Yonkers Police Department, and the Sleepy Hollow Police Department. Dr. Maddalo is also an Associate Member of the Fraternal Order of Police, further underscoring his deep ties to public service.
